DAY 9 - GOOD GIFTS FROM OUR FATHER!

Quick side note: I will be moving into an all-liquid fast for the last 10 days this Wednesday. If anyone would like to join, please do. It does not have to be all 10 days, it can be zero, one, two, or whatever the Holy Spirit places on your heart. I just wanted to make sure I offered.

-----------------------

Brothers and sisters, what a powerful time in the Lord yesterday! God is equipping His saints, preparing His people, and raising us as the nameless, faceless generation! Our Father is always wanting to give good gifts to those who ask. Sometimes it feels like we have been asking forever but God's timing is always perfect. Some times He provides for us instantly, other times it takes weeks, months, or even years. But His timing is always PERFECT.

I can look back at times that I wanted something instantly and I wasn't ready for it. Or I was asking with the wrong heart. Other times the Lord provided things I desparately needed but had no idea how to pray for it. He knows the depths of our hearts, He knows all our desires, our needs, and even our wants! MATTHEW 7:7 says, "ASK AND IT WILL BE GIVEN TO YOU; SEEK AND YOU WILL FIND; KNOCK AND THE DOOR WILL BE OPENED TO YOU."

The closer we get to the Lord, the more our flesh comes under submission, and the more our prayers become one with the Holy Spirit. The desires of our heart change from desires of the flesh to desires of the Spirit! What a powerful transformation! We begin to see the change in the way we even approach prayer and petition:

From: "Lord, please just make them stop cursing around me. Everytime my coworkers curse, make them say 'fluffy bunnies' instead...that'll teach 'em".

To: "Lord, give me the boldness to step in and share your love when my coworkers begin to curse and get upset. Help me be the light that breaks forth like the dawn amidst the darkness!"

MATTHEW 7:8 continues, "FOR EVERYONE WHO ASKS RECEIVES; THE ONE WHO SEEKS FINDS; AND TO THE ONE WHO KNOCKS, THE DOOR WILL BE OPENED."

The passage continues and explains: as parents, we all give good gifts to our children, how much more so will our Father in Heaven give good gifts to His children who ask. The point I want everyone to focus on here is.. "...TO THOSE WHO ASK HIM!(V11)". We must be willing to ASK! He is a GOOD GOOD FATHER!

With all of that being said, it is time for us as a body to add specifics to our prayer list. We have our "salvation spiritual hit list" but now it is time to add our petition for a different facility. A place where we have room to grow. A place where EVERYONE can come and join us and not have to worry about walking up stairs. A place more conducive for the growth of our teens and children.

God has always provided for us, whether it was in our home with rows of couches,a recreation building, an old daycare, and now The Upper Room. He has been so faithful. And we must continue to be grateful for all he has done and is doing, but in that, He knows we have limited parking, we are bursting at the seams, and are limited to a specific amount of growth. Our asking of a new building is not coming from a place of greed, selfishness, or pride. It is birthed from the desire to continue doing His WILL! AMEN

So please join me in praying for this everyday for the rest of this fast (and beyond)!

Watch what our God does! Amen!
