DAY 6: TEAR OFF THE ROOF!

The Lord, in His richness and mercy, has been highlighting things in my life that have been hidden. Things that I thought were gone but still needed to be dug up. When the Holy Spirit revealed this to me, I almost fell into a trap set by the enemy. A trap of condemnation and of feeling like a failure. I came to a fork in the road of my mind. Do I choose to believe what the enemy was saying or do I choose to be obedient to the Lord and run to Him? Do I fall into condemnation, or do I receive the loving correction from the Father and repent?

But GOD!

See, God knew I would struggle so days before this He put passages of Scripture in my Spirit through a song (He also graciously blessed me with an amazing wife). Things that would come back to me in my time of need. Today I would like to share it so the Holy Spirit can remind you in your time of need!

SONG: Tear off the roof, the King's in the house.                                    Just get me to Jesus, I don't care how.                                        I don't have to wait to get the Healing,                                        I got a faith without a ceiling.                                                so tear off the roof, the King's in the house.

This historical account is told in the synoptic Gospels (Mt9, Mk2, Lk5). The paralyzed man who was lowered through the roof. The crowds were massive and they could not get the paralyzed man to Jesus. Did they give up? Turn around and go home? Did they even say, "Let's wait until He is done"? -- NO! And I would like to remind everyone that this man was paralyzed not dead, deaf, or mute. you KNOW he was fighting for his healing.

"Let's try every entrance and exit." -Nothing                                  "Check the windows." -Nada                                                      "Let's go to the roof and take it apart." -Yes!

It is important to note that 4 friends were carrying the paralyzed man. Jesus recognized THEIR FAITH! Not just his faith. Their faith!

Sometimes, when the King is in the house, you need to tear off the roof! People came from all over to hear Jesus teach but five came to be touched! five burning ones! Five who did not wait to get the healing because they had faith without a ceiling!

Back to the fork in my road. I could have allowed despair and defeat to creep in. I could have allowed what were loving corrections from the Holy Spirit to turn into general condemnations from the enemy but instead, I decided to tear the roof off to get to my KING! I refuse to hide in the crowd. I REFUSE to be a bystander. I REFUSE to wait. I WILL burst through the crowd, tear off the roof, travail in prayer, and fight with everything in me to be the mighty OAK of righteousness that God is calling me to be.

It is not how few times a person falls that makes them righteous. The righteousness comes in the getting up!

PROVERBS 24:16 says, "For though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again, but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes."

God WILL reveal to you in this fast what needs to be changed/given up/repented of/healed/forgiven/etc. because He is calling you higher. The enemy wants you to not only stay where you are but to come back down a few steps. When you are in that valley of decision, I pray the Holy Spirit reminds you to TEAR OFF THE ROOF!

PRAYER FOCUS: Pray for yourself, your family, and the OAK body that we all develop the faith without a ceiling. That we will be the ones who will tear off the roof to get to the King.

SCRIPTURE FOCUS: MARK 2:1-12
