Resurrection Sunday

Today is good Friday and Sunday is Easter and I can't help but think of the power of Jesus. It is the LOVE that The Father has for HIS creation that led Jesus to the cross but it is His POWER that led Jesus out of the tomb! Too often we forget how powerful Jesus is and was while on this earth. Most of the time when Jesus was talking about himself, He was talking about His power! Jesus set the tone for his ministry by fasting 40 days and nights and being tempted by Satan. I love the scripture in Matthew 4:2. "And after fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry.". Yeah I bet He was. I can't even fast a day without being hungry and day-dreaming about food, I can't imagine 40 days. Then the original sinner, the deceiver of all deceivers shows up. If there is one thing Satan knows how to do, it's to tempt us into sin. But of course even with all his practice, he fails miserably against Jesus.

All throughout the Gospels we see the power of Jesus, healing the sick and lame, raising the dead, driving out demons, clearing the temple with a whip, calming the wind and waves, walking on water...so many amazing and miraculous signs and wonders. The same power that Jesus used to do all of these marvels and that brought Jesus back to life is the same power that we believers have through the gift from the Father, the Holy Spirit!

For anyone reading this, please allow this to soak in. When we give our lives over to Christ we become a NEW creation! Romans 8:1 says, "There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus". Jesus has already won the battle! He defeated death, Hell, and the grave, took the keys back, and WALKED OUT OF THE TOMB! We must understand that through Jesus we are victorious! We need to quit hanging out in our tombs as if we are powerless. Understand that we have power through Jesus and let us WALK OUT OF OUR TOMBS and shout to the world, "HE IS RISEN!"
