DAY 17: LEFT-HANDED WARRIORS

It is said that 90% of our population is right-handed. I have seen it as high as 95%. That means the 5-10% left is left-handed so out of every 100 people, 5-10 of them are left-handed.

This, unfortunately, led me to think of the Western church. It also led me to God's Word (as everything does). My question was, how many stories are there about left-handed people in The Bible? What I found was pretty fascinating.

In the book of JUDGES ch 3, it talks about how God raised up Ehud. Ehud killed King Eglon, led Israel to victory, and ushered in 80 years of peace. He was left-handed. Well, many great warriors weren't left-handed, you may say, and to that, I would agree. But what I noticed was that Ehud was a Benjamite (or Benjaminite. Both are considered correct).

Benjamin was the youngest son of Jacob and would become one of the 12 tribes, which would then become one of the two tribes that made up Judah. The tribe of Benjamin was known as the warrior tribe. In this tribe, they had what I like to call the tier 1 operators. JUDGES CH 20 shows us that the Benjamite warriors had a group of 700 "lefties" who could "sling a stone at a hair and not miss." Our modern-day snipers!

Also, in 1 CHRONICLES 12, we see some ambidextrous warriors come to support David in Hebron. Would you like to take a guess on which tribe they were from?

With this information, we can quickly deduce:

-All left-handed people mentioned in the Bible were warriors.

-All left-handed warriors in the Bible were Benjamites.

"So what's your point?" - I'm getting there!

Left-handed people make up 10% of the population (kinda like a "remnant"). Every left-handed person in Scripture was a renowned warrior. Brothers and sisters, it is time for us to be the left-handed warriors for the Glory of God, spiritually speaking! The 10%. The remnant!

I pray that you will sling your stone at a hair and not miss it. I pray that God will give you strategies to see spiritual growth in your families and loved ones. I pray that your prayers are pointed and powerful. I pray every word that comes from your mouth is Godly and purposeful. I pray that your sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, is sharper than ever before, in Jesus' name!

PRAYER FOCUS: Pray for yourself and the OAK body to become like the left-handed warriors, all for Jesus!

SCRIPTURE FOCUS: JUDGES 3:12-30

Oh and, yes, my being left-handed led to this. =\
